Ever since I can remember, the internet has played a huge role in my life, facilitating creativity and allowing me to make new friends. Before I became a blogger and bookstagrammer, I made fanvideos on YouTube. I quit about four years ago, but do still watch a lot of YouTubers like Dan & Phil, Dodie and of course various Booktubers. Since there are some really great Booktubers out there, I thought it would be nice to introduce you to some of my favourite accounts!
I think that Sanne was the first booktuber I ever followed, mainly because she s a fellow Dutchie. Not only does she bring across her opinions eloquently, she has great taste in just about anything and her videos tend to be both fun and relaxing. My favourite video is To All The Books I’ll Never Read, it’s so creative and poetic!
I only just recently discovered Lily when her review of Anna and the French Kiss popped up in my suggestions. She’s sarcastic, honest and really funny. My favourite videos are definitely her rant reviews.
Sasha has been an inspiration to me for years. I think I first found out about her when a cosplay photo popped up in my Instagram recommendations and have been an avid watcher ever since. She’s a consistent uploader and I adore how she’s so enthusiastic and relatable. Moreover, her bookshelves are actual goals! That’s why my favourite video is a bookshelf reorganization.
PeruseProject also happens to be a more recent discovery (I know guys, I’m so late to the party). She’s really eloquent and I often use her videos as recommendations for new books. The first video I ever watched also happens to be my favourite, which is Books I Loved But Now I Hate, because it shows how tastes and opinions can change over the years.
Booktube can be a bit of a female-dominated world, so I love to follow guys too. Jesse is incredibly funny and often has original book-related videos that I haven’t seen before. My favourite video is Thoughts in A Bookstore because it’s waaay too accurate.
Sabine’s Book Nook
Another Dutchie! Sabine seems like such a nice person and I love her unboxings. My favourite video is Stories Behind My Books #1, because it’s something I haven’t seen before and I love to hear the stories behind books.
Hailey in Bookland
Hailey creates the best content and her videos are always both relaxing and really interesting. It was hard to choose, but my favourite video is My Favourite Books of All Time because there is nothing that I love more than people raving about their favourites,
A Clockwork Reader
I love to watch Hannah’s videos because she’s so honest. She’s not afraid to express her opinion, even it’s an ‘unpopular’ one. She doesn’t just trash books though, but gives actual well-thought out arguments. Predictably, my favourite video is Popular Books I Don’t Like.
So these are my favourite booktubers! Let me know in a comment whether you watch booktubers and who your favourites are, I’d love to get some recommendations!
